So the idea of doing films had been brewing in ours heads for a while, and finally it formed itself in reality with Khalid and Uroos’ engagement shoot. Initially we thought about possible eShoot ideas and locations, but for one reason or another nothing really clicked. We then pitched the idea of doing a video for the engagement shoot along with a script and song choice, and Khalid and Uroos were totally game. We started off capturing their getting-ready type shots in Mississauga, and then moved on to downtown for the remainder of the shoot. The entire film was shot over a weekend.

In 2012 and 2013, we will only be selecting a handful of wedding assignments for video. So if that is something you’re interested in and would like to be considered for, drop us a line with your wedding details, and we will be in touch.

Starting now, we are also offering video engagement shoots for that includes initial consultation, script and story development, shooting, editing, and final delivery. Couples who we’ve been talking to intend to showcase the engagement shoot video with their wedding or save-the-date e-invites, their own wedding website, or as introduction highlights video before the grand entrance at the wedding.

Enjoy!

Special thanks to Awais Jaffery from Desi Vibe.

And so here we are with what should be the last engagement shoot for the season. After this we’ll be bombarding the blog with wedding pictures of all the amazing couples we’ve had the pleasure of working and meeting.

For Puja and Keith’s engagement shoot, we went to Sunnyside and a few other locations in downtown Toronto. Their wedding is coming up in a few weeks, with the traditional Indian ceremony in the morning, followed by what we are expecting to be an uber cool reception at a bar club in downtown Toronto!

Oh and if you haven’t already found out from our Facebook page, we are now proud parents of the cutest little baby girl. We named her Afroz Jahaan and she’s here to brighten our world (that’s what the name means!).

When Parag and Mona approached us for their wedding, we were super excited! For their first engagement shoot, we picked out a bunch of locations starting from their chic downtown Toronto condo and the plan was to end the day near a beach for some water shots. However, when we got to the end of the shoot, it being an extremely windy day, we were faced with thrashing waves so fierce and thunderous, that in interest of keeping all our body parts intact we decided to meet another day for the water pictures. Somewhere along the way, Meem came up with the idea of doing a picnic themed shoot for Parag and Mona. One thing led to another and before we knew it we were planning a full on production of an engagement shoot.

To make things even more interesting, we contacted our past bride and cupcake couturier Nasma of Frost Cupcakes. She made the most devilish cupcakes that looked and tasted the part and fitted our themed shoot perfectly. We practically had to fight everyone including ourselves from devouring them before the shoot ended. If you’re thinking about having a cake or cupcakes at your wedding, you owe it to yourself to at least try one of Nasma’s treats!

And now, without further ado, here is Parag and Mona’s amazing engagement shoot.

What a blur of excitement this last week has been! We covered Hashim and Mehvish’s perfect wedding in Toronto starting from their Nikaah, to Mayoun, to Mehndi, to Shaadi and finally Valima. It was all a perfect mélange of colors, music, ceremonies, and immaculate Urdu (the language of choice for MCs on all days) we haven’t heard since our Grade 12 final exams in Pakistan.

Mehvish had been in Dubai till about a few weeks ago and so our point of contact had mostly been Hashim and Mehvish’s brother Faraz on her side. We met Mehvish for the first time at the wedding, and she is the cutest, shyest, most sweetest bride on this planet ever! She was so nervous and shy that when we asked her to look at Hashim for one of the portrait shots, she couldn’t for more than a few seconds and had to look away all red in the face! As the days went by, she opened up with us, and with some guidance she was rocking the pictures in no time.

Hashim, Mehvish, congratulations to both of you and your families once again, and we wish you a very long, happy, prosperous life together Insha’Allah. May you stay forever smiling. Aameen!

If you were a guest at Hashim and Mehvish’s wedding in Toronto and would like to see your pictures, please send us an email at AliphAurMeem@gmail.com.

Today we’d like to share some engagement shoot pictures of Ali and Nasma’s. For their shoot we went to the Lakeshore area in Toronto.

Ali is a cricket buff and Nasma owns and operates a bakery (and loves cupcakes), so we obviously had to incorporate their secondary love of life into the eShoot. (Wait till you see the cakes these guys had at their wedding in a subsequent post). To achieve a different look, we did part of their shoot at night starting just before the last rays of sunset vanished. Enjoy!
